B) "K. Suryanarain Rau Memorial Senior Student Award for Research and Development in Smart Technology" with a citation and cash incentive of Rs 5000/-.

C) "K. Suryanarain Rau Memorial Junior Student Award for Research and Development in Smart Technology" with a citation and cash incentive of Rs 3000/-.

D) "K. Suryanarain Rau Memorial Award - Consolation Prize(s)", each not exceeding Rs 1000/- may also be awarded to deserving applicants.

ISAMPE AWARD for OUTSTANDING DESIGN AND/OR PROCESS DEVELOPMENT-2006

Eligibility Criteria and Conditions

1. The nominee/applicant should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in his/her specialization.
2. The nomination should be for a product or process developed during the last three years(May 2002 to May 2005).
3. If the nominee/applicant has worked as a part of a Team for the development of a product/process, his/her specific contributions requiring recognition to be highlighted.
4. The applicant/s or nominee/s and their organisation/institution should agree to provide access to ISAMPE Awards Committee to assess the work of the applicant/s, nominee/s and interview them in person, if required.
5. The applicant/s or nominee/s, if selected for the award, should personally receive the Award at the ISAMPE Annual Meeting. The travel and local expenses of the applicant/s or nominee/s shall be borne by themselves or by the Organisation/Institution sending the nominations.
6. ISAMPE Executive Board has the final authority on all the decisions taken with respect to the award and no correspondence will be entertained in this matter.
7. The responsibility for getting valid permits and licence for disclosure of information required for the award solely rests with the applicant/s and the nominee/s. The Society shall not in any way be responsible for any disputes or problems arising out of such a disclosure. Also, the Society shall not be responsible for authenticity or otherwise of the information.

Eligibility Criteria and Conditions

The award shall be annual and shall carry a cash reward of Rs 6000/- and a Certificate.

This award shall be given to an individual or group of individuals working on their own or through any institution or organisation in India for original or innovative work of development of a product or a process leading to a practical application in the area of smart structures or systems.

If the applicant or nominee has worked as a part of a team of the project, his/her specific contributions requiring recognition to be highlighted.

Emphasis shall be placed on the work especially in the area of sensor/actuator development and its practical application. The application should have been already demonstrated or there should be a satisfactory evidence of the potential of the same.

The nomination should be for the work that has been carried out preferably during the period not more than three years preceding the year of award.

The applicant/s or nominee/s and their organisation/institution should agree to provide access to ISAMPE Awards Committee to assess the work of the applicant/s, nominee/s and interview them in person, if required.

The applicant/s or nominee/s, if selected for the award, should personally receive the Award at the ISAMPE Annual Meeting. The travel and local expenses of the applicant/s or nominee/s shall be borne by themselves or by the organisation/institution sending the nominations.

This award shall be given to an individual or group of individuals working together satisfying the following criteria If the applicant or nominee has worked as a part of a team of the project, his/her specific contributions requiring recognition to be highlighted and this alone shall be considered for the award.
   • The work meriting the award should be carried out preferably during a period not exceeding three years prior to the year of the award.
   • The individual (or every member of the group of individuals working together) is or has been, during the period in which the work was carried out, a Regular Student working for a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in science or engineering or technology or related areas.
   • The individual (or every member of the group of individuals working together) has carried out the work at an institution or organisation in India and has fulfilled the requirements of the degree for which the work was carried out and has been found eligible for the award of the degree by a recognised institution.
   • The individual (or every member of the group of individuals working together) has not completed 3 years since the award of the said degree as on 1st July of the year of the award.
3. The award shall be given for original work or innovative work of research and development, including academic work, which would contribute towards the advancement of knowledge in the area of smart structures or systems. Emphasis shall be placed on the work especially in the area of sensor and actuators. The work may cater to analysis, design, materials behaviour, modification or generation of new materials, processing, usage and performance evaluation.
4. The applicant/s or nominee/s and their organisation/institution should agree to provide access to ISAMPE Awards Committee to assess the work of the applicant/s, nominee/s and interview them in person, if required.
5. The applicant/s or nominee/s, if selected for the award, should personally receive the Award at the ISAMPE Annual Convention. The travel and local expenses of the applicant/s or nominee/s shall be borne by themselves or by the Organisation/Institution sending the nominations.

2. This award shall be given to an individual or group of individuals working together satisfying the following criteria.

   • The individual (or every member of the group of individuals working together) has not completed 3 years since the award of Doctoral degree as on 1st July of the year of the award.
